About the event

The International Association of Financial Executives Institutes (IAFEI) will hold the 47th IAFEI World Congress in São Paulo, Brazil on 27-29 September 2017 at Hotel Unique.

Considered the global network event for CFOs, the congress will be hosted this year by the Brazilian Financial Executives Institute of São Paulo (IBEF SP). For three days, finance leaders from 20 IAFEI Member Institutes in America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Middle East will discuss current issues driving or influencing Latin America and the world.

The Brazilian Congress of Financial Executives (CONEF) will take place at the same time and venue as the world congress. This annual event brings together all 12 chapters of IBEF.

    PANEL DISCUSSIONS: THE MAKING OF "SMART CITIES"

    Making a city "smart" is emerging as a strategy to mitigate the problems generated by the urban population growth and rapid urbanization. In this panel we will discuss critical factors of smart city initiatives: management and organization, technology, governance, policy context, people and communities, economy, built infrastructure, and natural environment. These factors form the basis of an integrative framework that can be used to examine how local governments are envisioning smart city initiatives.
